The Devotion
Fear of other people's opinions, fear of the future, fear of failing in doing something God calls us to do - none of these are from God. It's been rightly said, "When you fear God, you don't have to fear anyone else. But when you don't fear God, you'll fear everything else." Fearing God means walking humbly in reverential awe of Him (Micah 6:8), and thanking Him for giving us self-control, love, and a peaceful mind.
Lord, thank you for giving me Your Spirit, which brings power, love, and a Spirit-controlled mind. Help me not walk in fear today, but in a humble relationship with You - my Creator, Sustainer, and Savior. In Jesus' name. Amen!
