Monday Morning Faith
Today's Verse
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet was without sin. The Bible teaches, history reveals, and the Holy Spirit testifies that Jesus Christ is alive today. He sits in the heavens, seeing everything as our Great High Priest (our access to God) and the Judge of all the earth.
Not only that, Hebrews 4 says that he sympathizes with our struggles and weaknesses - like the subtle frustrations of a Monday morning when you're running late or the temptation to tell a white lie to your teacher or boss to get ahead. Yes, Jesus gives us "Monday morning" faith and more - because He went through life without sin, died for our sin, and rose from the dead, proving that He is the Son of God. Whatever you're going through today, He's with you! Lean on Him and go His way.
Lord, give me a "Monday morning faith." Help me trust you in every area of my life. Give me the strength, wisdom, and insight I need today as I live for You. Help me lean into Your Word, that is alive and active today. In Jesus' name. Amen.
